John Madden was a famous football coach for the NFL before continuing his career as a sports commentator. Considered the greatest football coach in history, he was well known for his large body and long hair, and he left sports fans across the country devastated when he passed away at the age of 85 in 2021. Due to his successful achievements and impressive history in American football, it's no wonder that the entertainment industry would choose to release a biopic movie on his life. The casting choice of Nicolas Cage was very interesting, as he's usually cast in more quirky roles, and in his everyday life, he doesn't look much like Madden.
Still, he will be portraying the NFL figure in Madden, which reportedly began filming last month. Other cast members include Christian Bale, who will play football coach Al Davis, and other actors like Kathryn Hahn, John Mulaney, and more. It is being directed by David O. Russell, who is known for his work on other award-willing films like Silver Linings Playbook.
